Six More Weeks of Winter, Says Phil…

Phil Says Six More Weeks of Winter!

Phil’s official forecast as read 2/2/08 at sunrise at Gobbler’s Knob:

Here Ye! Here Ye! Here Ye!On Gobbler’s Knob on this fabolous Groundhog Day, February 2nd, 2008
Punxsutawney Phil, the Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of all Prognosticators,
Rose to the call of President Bill Cooper and greeted his handlers, Ben Hughes and John Griffiths.

After casting a weathered eye toward thousands of his faithful followers,
Phil consulted with President Cooper and directed him to the appropriate scroll, which proclaimed:

“As I look around me, a bright sky I see, and a shadow beside me.
Six more weeks of winter it will be!”

Meanwhile, Staten Island Chuck, NYC’s favorite forecaster had his own prediction.
“Chuck’s handler Doug Schwartz mentioned that Chuck and his predecessors, all coincidentally named Chuck, have been correct in 23 of his last 27 predictions. He may be right, as we can expect highs in the 40s and 50s for the next week.

The gauntlet was thrown down later when word was received that Chuck’s rival rodent, Punxsutawny Phil, whose prognostications have a measly 37% success rate, did see his shadow in Pennsylvania. The Woodchuck Challenge is on!

Chuck, formally known as Charles G. Hogg, VII, was also asked to predict the outcome of the Super Bowl. Although he typically sleeps through much of the football season, Chuck foresaw a glorious Giants victory against the Patriots.”

i would hardly call any Giants victory “glorious”.

we had a flag football game yesterday — the Groundhog Day Bowl — and the two teams were named the Punxsutawney Phil’s and the Staten Island Chuck’s.

Lots of folks been haters since game one. My man Dre was like “giants gonna get scraped by the bucs”, a week later “da cowboys gonna scrape em this week for sure” and then finally “aint no way they gonna brush green bay off”. Forget the haters go big blue.

You’d really be upset if you found out i’ve already been to more Yankees games than Rangers games.
